Over 750 guests, including over 400 chefs from all over Poland, took part in the event under the honorary patronage of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, the Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization and the City of Gdańsk. During the gala there were awards for chefs who, through their work, achievements and experience, promote Polish gastronomy in the country and abroad, inspire and set new culinary trends.
The ceremonial gala took place in the spacious interiors of Amber Expo in Gdańsk. The formula of the Gala in a spectacular way highlighted the debut of the POP category. Five duels were arranged between prominent fine dining bosses and five avant-garde POP chiefs. In each duel the bosses got the same leitmotif in the form of a lead product and 25 minutes to perform the show. At that time over 60 chefs prepared tasting portions of the presented dishes for all guests. For each of the 10 dishes, carefully selected pairings were served.
